Tampa Jazz Calendar — Bob James and David Sanborn; O Som Do Jazz; Nate Najar and Phill Fest

Not much new on the calendar this time out, but there is word that bassist James Genus and drummer Steve Gadd will be with Bob James and David Sanborn, which will make for a very special quartet.

And congrats to trombonist/composer David Manson & singer Andrea Moraes Manson on their group’s new CD, to be celebrated with a show Thursday at the Palladium

Friday, Aug. 23 – Chick Corea + Bela Fleck, Ruth Eckerd Hall, Clearwater, 8 p.m. (rescheduled from March 24)

Friday, Sept. 13 – Gato Barbieri + Gil Machin, Friday Morning Musicale, Tampa, 6 p.m.

October 17-20 – Clearwater Jazz Holiday: Chicago, Tower of Power, Average White Band, Brandi Carlile, Coachman Park, downtown Clearwater (full lineup TBA)

Feb. 18 — Jonathan Batiste and the Stay Human Band, Straz Center, Tampa
